With this piece, I was compelled to create something that explored the contrast between trash and treasure and was inspired by the over the top fashions of the rococo era and attempted to create a modernized approximation made solely from discarded plastic, paper and other materials. I was able to create the wig using newspaper and spray paint and built the skirt by layering sheer plastic tablecloths in different colors to create a shimmery watercolor effect. Finally I painted my model’s face and photographed her in mundane locations around my school. I think the final images capture the stark contrast between luxury and garbage that I intended to explore.
